Dos Rios Breeding
When the Dos Rios began planning the elements that would help reach the goal of creating the best whitetail experience the Dos Rios knew immediately that the success of the ranch would rest squarely on the ability to breed and produce the most impressive whitetail deer possible. From there the commitment was made to create the facilities, invest in the equipment, and retain the expertise that would be required to operate a top of the line breeding facility.
Our Breeding program is closely supervised. We are a licensed scientific breeding facility for Texas whitetail deer through the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. The facility itself is state of the art and spans seven acres of protected area providing a stress-free environment year round. Constant care and attention, coupled with protein and genetics has helped to develop an exceptional breeding stock.
The Dos Rios began breeding Texas whitetail deer in 1996 with all Wheeler stock. Our breeder stock was originally selected from the very best pedigrees and genetics that money can buy. In 2005 the Dos Rios began AI (artificial insemination), which has been overseen since the beginning by the “Deer Doctor”, Dr. Kroll.
And now, after years of carefully managed breeding, we have produced a richly populated ranch of best in class whitetail that you’ll have to see to believe.
